INQUIRING MINDS CASSEROLE BRIGADE #7

It seems the “Brigades” have been successful. But wait? What does that mean? That’s our
next topic: SUCCESS

It would be great to have a mix of younger and not-so-younger folks to seed this discussion,
those wondering what success might mean and those reflecting on what success has been.
Invite a younger or older friend or colleague to come with you!

Here are some questions to consider:

• How do you define success?
• What messages have you received from others (friends, family, teachers, media) on what
  constitutes success?
• What are some successes in your life?
• Who are some people you consider successful?
• Does success necessarily make us happy?
• Does success necessarily equate with money?
• Is failure the opposite of success? Winston Churchill said: “Success is the ability to move from
  one failure to another without loss of enthusiasm.”

For those of you who are new to the Brigades:

We (you) are a group of curious folks who gather together occasionally for nourishment and
inspiration. We share food and conversation, laughter and questions. We leave all the personal
and worldly problems and worries at the door, and savor community and connection. Who
knows? This may be the solution to all our problems after all!

Each meeting convenes around a specific topic and suggested questions to explore and
seed the conversation. No required reading. Just bring an open mind and heart. And a dish to
share. Vegetarian options encouraged! Join us to nourish and be nourished by others, in body,
mind and spirit.
